The death is announced of the Head of Surgical Department of the Sierra Leone Armed Forces, Haja Major Ayodele Olusina Aisha Folorunso who passed away yesterday the 12th June 2022.

The late Major Ayodele Olusina Aisha Folorunso was also an advocate of Hijab and have been in the fore front of Hijab Advocacy for several years in  Sierra Leone.

She spent over 40 years in the military and was the first Sierra Leone soldier to use hijab on her uniform.

“She was indeed a great soldier not only for the country but also for Islam, as she proudly wears the Hijab on her uniform and also advocates for women and Hi jab issues to the best of her ability” a young mentee said about her.

Funeral For Late Haja Major will take place Today 13th June, at Jamatul Haq Masjid at Fourah Bay Community. At Exactly 4:00 PM.

May the departed soul of this brave woman rest in peace.
