The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, has urged passengers to report drivers to the police if they refuse to give correct change, as part of efforts to enforce compliance with the government’s revised transport fares.

He made the statement during a live television interview while addressing public concerns over transport pricing following the government’s recent adjustment of fares in line with reduced fuel prices.

Minister Bah called on commuters to strictly adhere to the approved transport fares and insisted that enforcement must be supported by citizens. He stressed that passengers should not accept unfair practices from drivers and should promptly involve law enforcement where necessary.

According to him, the government has already taken steps by issuing clear directives on transport pricing, adding that citizens now have a responsibility to comply with the measures and help ensure accountability within the transport sector.

He further emphasized that public vigilance remains essential, noting that effective enforcement of transport regulations depends on cooperation between government authorities and the general public.
