Bridging Health Development (BHD) officially inaugurated a new Pediatric Ward at Njala University Hospital in Mokonde Town, Kori Chiefdom, Moyamba District today, marking a significant milestone in enhancing healthcare services for children aged 15 and below in the region.

The ceremony commenced on Saturday, 1st March 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with local leaders, healthcare professionals, and community members in attendance

The event featured a presentation outlining the importance of pediatric care and the new facilities’ capabilities. Community health advocates expressed gratitude for the initiative, emphasizing its potential impact on reducing child morbidity and mortality rates in the area.

“We believe that every child deserves access to quality healthcare,” said Dr. Lars Seligman the chief executive officer during the ceremony. “This new ward will ensure that children in Kori Chiefdom receive the medical attention they need, close to home.”

The Pediatric Ward is equipped with modern medical facilities and staffed by trained healthcare professionals dedicated to providing compassionate care. The opening of this ward reflects BHD’s commitment to improving health outcomes and supporting the well-being of children in Sierra Leone.
