The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Regional Office in Kono has uncovered thirteen cartons of Free Health Care drugs that were secretly stored in a male toilet at the Koidu Government Hospital.

This discovery was made following a tip-off from a whistleblower.

Upon receiving the intelligence, the ACC’s Regional Investigation Unit swiftly conducted an operation at the hospital, revealing essential life-saving medical supplies hidden in an unsuitable location.

Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently in custody, assisting with the ongoing investigation.

The ACC has emphasized its commitment to monitoring the management and distribution of Free Health Care drugs, which are intended to support vulnerable populations, including pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children under five.

This uncovering of hidden drugs raises serious concerns about the oversight and handling of critical medical resources meant for those in need.
