In a concerted effort to reinforce discipline and professionalism within the police force, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Franklyn Bawoh, head of the Complaint Discipline and Internal Investigation Department (CDIID), along with a team from the Police Headquarters (PHQ), addressed personnel of Bo West and Regional during a parade on Tuesday.
CSP Bawoh emphasized the critical importance of discipline and professionalism while on duty, reminding the officers that they represent the entire organization and must conduct themselves in ways that uphold its reputation. “We are the face of the law,” he stated, “and our conduct, both on and off duty, reflects on the entire police force.”
Highlighting key aspects of expected behavior, CSP Bawoh stressed the need for punctuality, strict adherence to protocols, and mutual respect among colleagues and superiors. He underscored the importance of maintaining confidentiality and integrity, particularly when handling sensitive information related to investigations and dissemination.
The PHQ team members echoed CSP Bawoh’s sentiments, making it clear that lapses in discipline or professionalism would not be tolerated. They warned that such infractions could have severe consequences for both the individual and the organization. “Discipline and professionalism are not just guidelines; they are the backbone of our effectiveness and public trust,” one team member asserted.
The officers were urged to take their responsibilities seriously and strive for excellence in their field. Emphasis was also placed on the value of teamwork, with all personnel encouraged to support one another and uphold the core values essential for the organization’s success.
The address concluded with a call for unity and a renewed commitment to the principles that ensure the police force operates with the highest standards of integrity and service.
