In Celebration of President Julius Maada Bio’s 58 years Birthday, the Government of Sierra Leone will today be distributing 1,000 Town Lots of Land to 500 citizens in a public land raffle draw at Youyi Building in Freetown.
According to reports from the Ministry of Lands and Country Planning, the raffle draw will commence at 2:00 PM and everyone is invited.
“The Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning is inviting all State Land Applicants, Transparency and Accountability Institutions, Members of the Fourth Estate and the General Public to the Second Edition of the LAND RAFFLE DRAW that is being organised by the Ministry,” the Ministry stated.
The 500 beneficiaries of the 1000 Town Lots of land to be distributed are: Civil Servants, Security Forces, Teachers/Lectures, Medical Personnel, and Journalists.
“My government has established a fair raffle system for the distribution of land among citizens for residential housing development,” President Bio’s comment on the unprecedented land raffle in the House of Parliament.
This is not the first the ruling SLPP government has organised land raffle draw for citizens.
In March this year, the Ministry of Lands, Housing, and Country Planning successfully completed the preparation process for the allocation of plots to the 200 Sierra Leoneans at Allen Town Community.
According to the Ministry, the beneficiaries are those won the first land raffle draw they conducted in December 2021.
