David Moinina Sengeh, the chief minister of the republic of Sierra Leone has on the 30th August 2023 started an unannounced visit and check on civil and public servants at the Youyi Building in Freetown.
This is part of the plans to ensure effective service delivery and all appointed officials to be committed to their duties and the people of the country.
Giving brief fact of the visit, he said many workers do not show up early for work whilst some are even absent from work. He appreciated those that showed up and cautioned those that were absent as he noted that, one has to be committed and dedicated for what he/she is being paid for. “During my spot check this morning at the Youyi building which is hosting several ministries, I found out that many people don’t show up early or absent themselves from work.
Accountability starts with you; if you’re getting paid from public fund, ensure you’re doing the work you’re been paid to do” he noted.
Thanks Chief Minister for showing patriotism.God will surely guide you in your faithful service to the nation.Any weapon fashioned against you shall not prosper.
Government Workers have been in relaxation mood without production for so many years from one administration to another. This is an excellent step in the right direction.A time clock system should be established, for stall to punch on and out. They should be paid by hours work not on fixed unproductive work hours. There should be strict discipline in the work force .
Real talk real move let’s add dignity and integrity to it by that I believe we can all come together and work for our belove mama salone with love and respect .
