The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has officially launched an intensive nationwide Strategic Communications Outreach.
From April 25 to 27, 2026, high-level delegations have been deployed to the South-East and North-West regions to engage directly with the electorate through a series of coordinated media appearances.
The initiative, themed “Fostering Public Trust and Confidence in ECSL’s Electoral Processes,” aims to bridge the information gap between the Commission and the public. By leveraging local radio platforms, ECSL is providing real-time updates on electoral activities while addressing public concerns.
The outreach adopts a simulcast strategy, ensuring that the Commission’s message reaches audiences simultaneously across multiple districts.

To ensure the delivery of accurate and authoritative information, ECSL deployed key directors and senior officers to lead the engagements.
The South-East delegation was led by Momoh Kanneh, Director of Electoral Education, and Christopher A.A. Jones, Acting Director of Media and Communication.
The North-West delegation was led by Albert Massaquoi, Director of External Relations, and Andrew Raka Kanu, Senior Election Officer.
These teams, supported by district-level staff, are participating in live question-and-answer sessions, allowing citizens to seek clarification on voter registration, voting procedures, and the Commission’s mandate.

The initiative underscores ECSL’s continued commitment to bringing electoral information closer to the people and strengthening democratic participation nationwide.
The regional tour represents the first phase of a broader strategy. Following the North-West and South-East engagements, ECSL plans to extend similar interactive sessions to the Western Region.
