The primary focus of the engagement was on reviewing the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP) 2017-2026. Participants aimed to align the plan with the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), ensuring Sierra Leone plays its part in protecting global biodiversity.

The EPA also presented its transformation strategy, highlighting its alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This alignment underscores the agency’s commitment to contributing to broader national and global sustainability objectives.

Furthermore, the EPA emphasized the importance of its ongoing partnership with the UNDP Sierra Leone and ProtectionLeone. This collaboration, participants agreed, is crucial for the continued improvement and implementation of the national sustainability strategy.
