First Lady, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, hosted the newly appointed Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Zhao Yong, for a courtesy call at her office in Goderich earlier today, Friday the 23rd of January, 2026.

In a move to further solidify the long-standing bilateral relations between Sierra Leone and the People’s Republic of China.

The meeting marks a significant continuation of the partnership between the Office of the First Lady and the Chinese Embassy.

Describing the engagement as “warm and constructive,” Dr. Fatima Maada Bio emphasized that the visit reflects the deep-rooted friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

Ambassador Zhao Yong, who officially assumed his duties this month, has been active in engaging key Sierra Leonean leaders.
