Five former fugitives arrested in Guinea for their involvement in the failed coup attempt of November 26, 2023, have been extradited to Sierra Leone and handed over to law enforcement authorities.
In a press release issued by the Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, it was confirmed that the individuals were captured in a joint operation conducted by Guinean and Sierra Leonean security forces. The apprehended fugitives are:
Major F.S Kamara
Major Patrick Abu Odendeh Sesay (a.k.a PAO)
Major Juana Kabba
Fatmata Koroma
Major I Bangura
The government stated that all five fugitives will undergo interrogation by law enforcement authorities in Sierra Leone.
Expressing gratitude to the Guinean authorities, the Government of Sierra Leone highlighted the strong bilateral relations between the two nations that facilitated these arrests. They also acknowledged the crucial role played by citizens, both locally and internationally, in providing valuable information that led to the successful capture of these individuals.
The Ministry of Information and Civic Education assured the public of ongoing updates as the investigation and legal proceedings continue.
They can run but they can not hide. No hiding place for fugitives that are enemies of Sierra Leone. We will hunt them down one by one and bring them to book. The next fugitive to be repatriated from Nigeria is Ernest Bai Koroma. He will be locked up at Pademba Road prison while facing interrogation.
To God be the glory all of those who attempted to destroyed this country we face the full force of the law by God grace
