The Office of the Presidential Spokesman launched its inaugural Town Hall, Citizens Engagement, and President and People Engagement session on July 13, 2024, at the Port Loko District headquarters.

The event, held at the Resident Minister’s Conference Hall, drew a crowd exceeding expectations with over 250 attendees.

Presidential Spokesman Dr. Alpha Kanu delivered President Bio’s message, emphasizing the importance of peace and unity. He urged residents to support the President’s development efforts, highlighting projects like a new state-of-the-art medical hospital and a National Fire Force office for Port Loko. Dr. Kanu stressed the need to prioritize development over political divisions.

Encouragingly, a senior member of the opposition APC party also spoke at the event, calling for an end to political conflicts and collaboration among leaders for the nation’s benefit.

A women’s representative expressed appreciation for President Bio’s focus on regional development and pledged their support for maintaining peace and government initiatives.

The Town Hall is seen as a significant step towards strengthening ties between the government and the people, promoting national unity, and keeping citizens informed about progress on the National Unity Agreement and Tripartite Recommendations.
