The Ministry of Health has commenced its Annual Hospital Review, bringing together stakeholders to assess hospital performance and healthcare delivery across the country.

Day one of the review opened with strong participation from Ministry of Health officials, clinicians, hospital administrators, and development partners from across Sierra Leone.

Discussions focused on hospital performance, service delivery, and strategies aimed at ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care possible.

Delivering the keynote address, Senior Permanent Secretary Mr. Andrew L. Sorie commended hospital management teams for their resilience and dedication despite ongoing resource constraints.

He also highlighted notable progress in maternal and child health indicators, as well as expanded access to essential healthcare services in several districts.

“This review is not just about numbers; it is about the lives we are saving and the quality of care we are delivering to our people,” Mr. Sorie said.

He added that continued efforts must be made to strengthen accountability, improve infrastructure, and invest in the health workforce.

The first day of the review concluded with a renewed commitment from stakeholders to build a resilient, efficient, and people-centered healthcare system for all citizens.
