The National Revenue Authority (NRA) has announced it has achieved 99% of its 2024 revenue target, marking a significant milestone in its financial performance.

Commissioner General Mrs. Jeneba Kpaka Bangura has also highlighted the authority’s commitment to further revenue growth and the implementation of digital transformation within the country’s tax system.

According to a statement released on the NRA’s official Facebook page, the near-perfect achievement reflects the authority’s improved operational effectiveness and successful strategies aimed at enhancing tax compliance and collection across Sierra Leone.

Mrs. Bangura also noted a remarkable doubling of actual revenue collected since 2022. This growth, she emphasized, is a testament to the NRA’s dedication to strengthening its financial commitment and implementing effective revenue-generating measures.

The NRA is now urging citizens and businesses to fully support the government’s initiatives to transition to a cashless and efficient tax system. The authority is actively collaborating with key stakeholders to promote public compliance and raise awareness about the benefits of electronic tax systems.

The focus on digital transformation aims to modernize collection methods, minimize fraud, and contribute to national economic growth. The NRA believes that a more advanced electronic economy will enhance the country’s financial health and drive sustainable development.

“The NRA continues to collaborate closely with key individuals to promote public compliance and raise knowledge of the benefits of electronic taxes,” the statement said, emphasizing the authority’s commitment to innovation and strategic reform.
