The Parliament of Sierra Leone through the Public Account Committee has commenced reviewing the Auditor General’s Report which involves the Mayor of Freetown, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr.
The first hearing was chaired by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Solomon Thomas.
The basis of the hearing was centered around on the Auditor General’s Report which noted that certain projects implemented by the Freetown City Council were unable to be audited because of the agencies hired by the FCC to implement those projects.
Hon. Thomas explained the Mayor of Freetown was summoned in Parliament to explain how certain projects by the FCC were made “unauditable”.

Hon. Thomas also asked the Mayor to present documents showing how those mentioned projects were implemented.
Responding to the queries, Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr presented documents of projects implemented in 2019 by the FCC.
