In the verge to prove the alleged murder of Sia Fatu Kamara, the death certificate was presented before Justice Alhaji Momoh Jah Stevens by Detective Police Officer, Andrew Nyakeh Amara.

Detective Nyakeh Amara, an investigator with the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), appeared in the High Court to present the certificate of Sia Fatu Kamara prepared by Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma.

The State Prosecutor, Yusuf Issac Sesay, questioned Detective Amara about his duties and role in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Headquarters, specifically during the investigation of Abdul Kpaka, a businessman accused of murdering his girlfriend Sia Fatu Kamara at his residence in Freetown on August 13, 2024.

Detective Amara testified that he received a call from Detective Mohamed Amara about the case and formed a team of police officers to investigate. They went to the Adonkia Police Division, where they received the accused, Kpaka, and the case file from the Local Unit Commander (LUC) Pa. Alimamy Sesay.

After returning to Freetown West, Lumley, Detective Amara was instructed to continue the investigation. He then arranged for an autopsy to be conducted by Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma on August 16, 2024. The autopsy revealed injuries on Sia’s body, and the findings were documented and shared with the relevant parties.

On the same day, Detective Amara and his team, along with the accused, executed a search warrant at Kpaka’s residence. They found various items belonging to Sia, which the accused confirmed. The search was documented with photos taken by Detective Turay, and the accused signed the search warrant. The trial is set to continue on Friday, November 15, 2024.
