The Sierra Leone Police in the Freetown-East region have intensified efforts to restore order on major roads, continuing their ongoing “Operation Push Back” with a targeted right-of-way clearance exercise along key corridors in the eastern part of the capital.
The exercise, carried out along Benz Garage, Black Hall Road, and Shell Old Road on the Kissy Bye Pass corridor, was led by the Regional Operations Officer, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Francis Momodu Tommy.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Freetown-East Regional Commander, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Brima Kanneh.
According to the Police, the operation focused on removing street encroachments and other obstructions that impede the free flow of vehicular traffic and restrict pedestrian movement in the affected areas.

During the exercise, officers engaged with traders and motorists, urging them to comply with regulations governing the use of public roads. Police emphasized the importance of keeping roadways clear and accessible at all times to ensure safety and ease of movement.
The Sierra Leone Police stated that the clearance operation forms part of broader efforts to enhance road safety and improve traffic flow within the Freetown-East region. Authorities further disclosed that similar operations will be extended to other identified hotspot areas as part of the ongoing initiative.
Police say the continued enforcement under “Operation Push Back” reflects their commitment to maintaining order on public roads and addressing congestion challenges across the municipality.
