The Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) has recognized 11 distinguished Sierra Leoneans with Presidential Distinction Awards at its 2024/25 media awards ceremony held at Bintumani Hotel in Freetown.

According to the SLAJ Secretariat, the awards are granted at the discretion of the SLAJ President and honor individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to national development across various sectors. Recipients, though not necessarily media professionals, embody values of ethical leadership, civic responsibility, and excellence that align with SLAJ’s principles.

The awards highlight the media’s role not only as a watchdog but also as a platform that celebrates those who contribute positively to society.
