The Interim Executive of the Sierra Leone Association of Women in Journalism (SLAWIJ) Executive has filed an Injunction against Yeama Thompson and Others in the high court of Sierra Leone in the matter of Articles of the interpretation of Articles 2, 16, 17, And 18 among others of Articles of Association of the Sierra Leone Association of Women in Journalism.
The plaintiffs of the said injunction before the court are Millicent Kargbo, Aminata Finda Massaquoi, and Mariama Sesay.
The defendants include Ms. Yeama Thompson, Mariama Khai-Fornah, Mariama Coker, Princess Gibson, Zainab Kanu and Lucy-Ann Ganda.
The Interim Injunction has been granted to the Plaintiffs/ applicants restraining the defendants from holding themselves out and performing any functions or acting as directors, subscribers, and holders of any office of the company.
The order also restricts the defendants from convening or holding a meeting scheduled for Thursday, 19th October 2023 or any other Subsequent meeting of the 1st Defendant Company and any other Party (including Partner of the 1st Defendant Company).
Oh Sierra Leone! I wish and pray that this injunction is not politically motivated. The politicians in that country will do everything to make sure that key organisations that serves as a treat to their government are headed by their own party supporters or someone they can easily play with at any time they want to.
