The United States has revealed through its Embassy in Freetown that they will be paying keen attention to Sierra Leone’s multi-tier election in June this year.

The Embassy said that the US Government will send some professional staff members of the US Senate Foreign Relations before the elections.

On Wednesday afternoon, the US Ambassador met with the Electoral Commission Sierra Leone.

We had a thorough discussion on the upcoming election, which will be watched with great interest by Washington,” the Embassy said.

Sierra Leone will hold its elections on the 24 June this year.

The incumbent SLPP Julius Maada Bio will contest with the main opposition APC Dr. Samura Kamara for the second time. Bio won by a narrow margin in 2018 after a runoff.
