The Minister of State for the Western Region, Adekule J.M King ESQ has on behalf of the Government signed an agreement with the People’s Republic of China for the installation of forty sets of solar streetlights in the nation’s capital Freetown.
The project worth $20-Million which may work to light up Regent Community and Campbell Town Community and other Key Communities in the Western Area.
The contractors from China will have to work closely with a Local Supplier, which is Rick Solar Electricity Limited to Facilitate the Supply and Installation of the Solar Streets Lights, for a period of three month.
The agreement clearly stated that the Western region Ministry to coordinate the various communities for necessary, Preparations, including identification of strategic locations, assist in the erection of steel Poles, and ensuring that the environment is safe for the movement people within the Community even after the installation.
