The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) generously donated mechanical tools on August 28, 2023, to bolster a pilot garage project aimed at empowering the youth

Youth Minister, Mohamed Orman Bangura presented the items to Care Garage in Goderich, Freetown. This partnership according to him, is one of the initiatives undertaken by the Youth Envoy Yulisa Ahmadu on behalf of the youth of Sierra Leone through the Youth Ministry.

Mr. Mehmet Ozdemir, the Coordinator of TIKA, and Mr. Mehmet Selim Ortok, the Third Secretary of the Turkish Embassy, served as representatives of the Turkish government.

During his keynote address, Minister of Youth Mohamed Orman Bangura expressed his appreciation to the Youth Envoy for facilitating the collaboration between the Turkish Embassy and TIKA, ensuring that they could benefit from the donated equipment. He also extended his gratitude for the mechanical tools provided. Expressing his appreciation for the Mechanical Tools, he affirmed that nothing is too small and nothing is too big.

This Garage is like a host for young people on the streets, young people society has ignored saying they are like failures in life. Bringing them to a place like this for them to learn something will change their narrative, change their story” Minister Bangura stated.

The Minister admonished the beneficiaries that this is just a start as others will benefit more. He admonished the Garage workers to refrain from stealing the donated tools and stay away from drugs.
Head of Care  Garage, Ishmail Alie Turay thank the Turkish delegation and the Ministry of Youths for the generous donation. Acknowledging the importance of the tools, he stated that the various mechanical equipment will help to facilitate their work in the Garage. He promised to handle the the tools with care so they can be sustainable.

Chairlady of the Godrich Community thank the Turkish representatives and the Minister of Youth for their generosity. She revealed her face beamed with Joy when she heard the news that their Garage will be receiving Mechanical tools to further help to empower their children in the Goderich community.
