English Championship side Blackburn Rovers have integrated Sierra Leone internationals Augustus Kargbo and Osman Kamara into their first-team training setup as preparations intensify for the 2026/27 season.

The move is seen as part of the club’s strategy to strengthen its attacking options while blending experienced international quality with emerging young talent.

Twenty-six-year-old Augustus Kargbo, who joined Blackburn Rovers in January 2025, has steadily become part of the club’s attacking unit. The Leone Stars forward brings valuable experience to the squad, having earned 24 senior caps for Sierra Leone and scoring five international goals.

Kargbo’s versatility as a second striker and attacking forward makes him a strong option for rotation and impact substitutions, especially in demanding Championship fixtures where experience and composure can make the difference.

Meanwhile, 19-year-old Osman Kamara continues his rise after completing a move from Arsenal’s academy to Blackburn in February 2026 on a multi-year deal. The young winger has already represented Sierra Leone at Under-20 level, notably featuring in the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

Kamara’s inclusion in first-team training provides him with an important opportunity to adapt to the physical and tactical demands of Championship football. Known for his pace and ability to operate on the left flank, he is viewed as a long-term option who could earn minutes in cup competitions and gradually break into league action.

The integration of both Sierra Leonean players reflects Blackburn Rovers’ commitment to building internal squad depth by combining seasoned international experience with academy-developed youth, reducing the need for heavy transfer market activity ahead of the new campaign.

For Sierra Leone football supporters, the development is another positive sign as both players continue to progress at club level, potentially strengthening the national team setup in the process.
