Coach Alhaji Foray has invited 40 players to training ahead of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024 Qualifiers against Liberia.

Sierra Leone will face Liberia in double-header scheduled for October 27 and November this year.

Foray’s list is dominated by players of the reigning champions of the Sierra Leone Premier club, Bo Rangers with seven players followed by East End Lions with four players.

Among the players invited include Musa Noah Kamara (Musa Tombo) and Suffian Kalokoh.

The second round of the competition will take place in December and could see Sierra Leone lineup against Senegal if they win against Liberia.

CHAN was founded in 2009 as an African championship competition organised for footballers playing in their local leagues. Since its foundation, the most successful teams include Morocco and DR Congo with two titles each.

The African football body, CAF have often been criticised for its lack of adequate financing of the competition but this year’s edition boasts of impressive $2 million in prizes for the champion.
