Sierra Leone Premier League heavyweight, East End Lions have suffered a major setback in their fight for the title after drawing recording a goalless draw on home turf.

The Killers, before the match were 10 points behind Leagu leaders and defending champions Bo Rangers.

Football pundits had earlier predicted that the match will be a herculean task for Lions given recent history between the two sides.

The tempo of the match controlled mostly by the away side as their young midfield maestro, Samuel Hunter controlled the game with his attacking runs and defensive acumen.

The young midfielder successfully outshone Lions’ Ghanaian midfielder, Samuel Bekoe for the larger part of the match.

Rangers were also held to a goalless draw by relegation battling Luawa FC.

The Cacao Boys gave their all to pull a point on home turf against the champions in Kailahun.

Bo Rangers are still leading by 10 points and a win for Lions could have seen it reduced to eight with less than 13 games to go.

In another match third place FC Kallon lost away by 2 goals to nil against Diamond Stars.

The Cavaliers good run of form lately saw them net 10 goals in two matches but was ended in Kono by tenacious Diamond Stars.

Meanwhile Coach Zappa’s Old Edwardians continue to avoid relegation scare after multiple wins in the second leg of the League.
