Mogbwemo Queens FC, representing Sierra Leone in the upcoming CAF Women’s Champions League Zone A qualifiers, paid a courtesy visit to the SLFA secretariat to finalize their preparations.
SLFA Vice-President 1, Mr. Harold Nat-Johnson, welcomed and commended the Queens for their remarkable back-to-back title defenses. He praised the management for their unwavering support despite the country’s challenges and assured the team of a reward should they progress to the group stage in South Africa. “On behalf of the president, we will donate NLE 50,000 as a start,” he announced.
Chairman of Mogbwemo Queens, Pastor Sheku Kemetorma, expressed gratitude to Vice-President Nat-Johnson and the entire SLFA executive and staff for supporting the team and enhancing the players’ skills. “We appreciate the donation and assure you that, with the dedication and enthusiasm of our players, head coach, and technical team, we will make you proud by reaching the group stage,” he said.
The Acting General Secretary, Benson Bawoh, highlighted the financial incentive for the team, stating, “There is $100,000 at stake if you progress to the group stage, so hurry up and secure it with your performance.”
In giving her vote of thanks, the Captain Kadiatu M. Kamara thanked the SLFA for consistently supporting women’s premier league.
