Sierra Leonean Olympian Ola, 26, has shown improved performance while training in Thailand ahead of major upcoming international competitions.
Since competing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Ola has recorded progress across all swimming strokes. The development follows a World Aquatics Scholarship that enabled her to train at the Thanyapura High Performance Centre in Thailand.
Her improvement has been evident in recent Asian Swimming Championship events, where she demonstrated increased speed and technique across multiple disciplines.
According to performance records, Ola has reduced her time in the 100m breaststroke by nearly 10 seconds and improved her 100m freestyle by about four seconds. She has also set a new national record for Sierra Leone in the women’s 100m breaststroke with a time of 1:42.10.
Ola is preparing to represent Sierra Leone at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in July. She is expected to compete in the women’s 50m and 100m freestyle events.
The results mark a milestone in her sporting career as she builds on her Olympic experience and training exposure in high-performance environments.
