Osman Koroma, popularly known as “Kosobo,” reaffirmed his status as Sierra Leone’s strongest man by winning the 2025 Inter-Community Strongest Man Competition on Saturday at Deep Eye Water Playing Field.
Awoko reports that the defending champion faced a tough challenge from Ibrahim Kamara, the nation’s second-ranked strongman, in a closely contested battle that thrilled spectators. The two athletes pushed each other to their limits across multiple strength disciplines before Koroma emerged victorious.
Koroma secured his win with dominant performances in key events, including the Farm Walk, Machine Deadlift, and Dumbbell Jerk. In a post-competition interview, the champion expressed satisfaction with his performance and revealed his focus is now on the upcoming International Strongest Man Competition in Dubai next month.
Event organizer and coach Professor Sonny Johnson praised all participants, stating the competition successfully provided a platform for athletes to demonstrate their strength and skill. He also commended competitors in both the Strongest Man and Tug of War contests, declaring the event a resounding success.
Koroma described the Inter-Community competition as a crucial part of his training regimen as he prepares for international competition. The event drew large crowds from across Freetown and beyond, solidifying its reputation as a premier showcase of strength athletics in Sierra Leone.
