Sierra Leone Football Association President, Thomas Daddy Brima, visited Ports Authority Football Club to offer condolences and support in the wake of a recent tragedy.

The team’s Head Coach, Lamin Bangura, was killed in a road accident on Tuesday, March 26th, 2024, along with other injuries to key personnel.

President Brima’s visit, which took place on Monday, April 8th at the SLFA Academy Grounds, aimed to lift the spirits of the grieving team and encourage them to maintain their competitive spirit. He urged the players and remaining coaching staff to stay courageous in the face of this adversity.

The gathering reflected an outpouring of support for Ports Authority FC. Vice President 1 Harold Nat-Johnson, Acting General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh, and Technical Director Ibrahim Bah were all present to express their solidarity with the club during this challenging time.

President Brima further solidified his commitment by donating 20 match balls to the team. This contribution is intended to boost the players’ confidence as they return to compete in the Premier League.

Captain Mohamed Bangura expressed gratitude for the President’s visit and encouraging words. He assured the President that the team will strive to perform well in the upcoming league matches.
