Ahead of 2023 Paris Games, Sierra Leonean Swimmers are set to benefit from a Scholarship that will offer a special Training Camp in South Africa ahead of their international competitions. The scholarship was provided by the African Swimming Federation.

According to the Sierra Leone Swimming Association, CANA will provide financial support for accommodation, meals, and local transport for two athletes per country to participate in the camp while the Sierra Leone Swimming, Diving and Water Polo Association will be responsible for providing air tickets and allowances for the athletes.

The hosting of the swimmers will commence on the 22-29 January,
in the City of Mbombela in South Africa where athletes will be provided with the opportunity for two (2) pool sessions per day, gym sessions and a series of lectures on various topics to assist with their preparations for the major competitions. This training scholarship will also serve as a major boost to prepare swimmers for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

Responding to the CANA Secretary General Dr Mohamed Diop via an email message, Mohamed Abdul Turay the NOC Presidential hopeful and President of the Sierra Leone Swimming, Diving and Water Polo Association thanked CANA for their continuous support towards the Sierra Leone Swimming Diving, and Water Polo Association.
