Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) President Babadi Kamara departed the country on Tuesday evening for a series of high-level international engagements, including the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

As part of his itinerary, Kamara will attend the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup between hosts Mexico and South America on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Mexico City Stadium in the Mexican capital.

Following the ceremony, the SLFA president will travel to Miami to participate in the FIFA Summit, a gathering of football federation presidents, senior administrators, and key stakeholders from member associations worldwide.

Officials said his participation is part of the SLFA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional partnerships, cultivate international cooperation, and advance the strategic interests of Sierra Leone football within the global football governance framework.

The mission is also expected to facilitate constructive dialogue on football development, capacity building, and other matters of common interest to member associations.
