President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babdi Kamara, has reaffirmed the Association’s commitment to Grassroots Football Development, talent identification, and youth empowerment during the FIFA Talent Development Scheme (TDS) Amateur Football Environment Analysis Conference on Thursday, June 4, 2026.

The conference, facilitated by FIFA Regional Consultants Ali Mwebe of Uganda and Serama Letsoaka of South Africa, brought together representatives from government institutions, universities, regional and district football associations, schools, and other key football stakeholders.

During the engagement, President Kamara described the engagement as an important step in strengthening football development structures across Sierra Leone.

Addressing participants, the SLFA President commended stakeholders for their active participation and urged them to apply the knowledge gained during the conference within their communities. He emphasized that football development is a shared responsibility that requires integrity, commitment, and collaboration from all stakeholders.

Furthermore, President Kamara highlighted the SLFA’s continued focus on creating pathways for young talents through structured development programmes, noting that the FIFA Talent Development Scheme provides a valuable opportunity to identify and nurture future Leone Stars while helping to positively engage young people across the country.

Finally, reaffirming his vision for the game, President Kamara stressed that the SLFA remains dedicated to expanding opportunities for young players and building a stronger football future for Sierra Leone.

He called on stakeholders to embrace the recommendations of FIFA’s experts and work together to advance football development at all levels.
