Sierra Leone and Crystal Palace winger Sullay Kaikai has won the club’s Development Player of the Year award for 2014/15.
The winger was handed the trophy at the club’s Awards Night at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon this evening, capping a fine season for the 19-year-old who made an instant impact on his first-team debut for the Eagles back in September as he scored a last minute equaliser against Newcastle United in the Capital One Cup.
He also featured 10 times for the Eagles’ under-21 side, who finished the season top of the table in the U21 Professional Development League 2 South, scoring six goals, and had a successful stint on loan at League Two side Cambridge United where he netted six goals in 30 outings for the U’s.
The award completes a good week for Kaikai, who also received Cambridge’s Young Player of the Year prize last week, plus he walked away from the night with the Vice Presidents Young Player of the Year award who selected him as their outstanding youngster from the season.
