The South Regional Manager of NASSIT, John Lamina, is in critical condition following a violent attack by armed robbers at his residence in Bo Town on the night of 28 August 2025.

The attackers, who remain unidentified, reportedly tortured Lamina during the incident and left him with serious injuries to his head. He was rushed to Dr. Yillah Hospital in Bo, where he is currently receiving treatment.

The robbery has shocked many in Bo and raised fresh concerns about the rising cases of violent crime in the city. Residents say such attacks are becoming more common and are often carried out by armed individuals using guns, knives, and other dangerous weapons.

Local reports suggest that several other people in Bo have also been attacked in recent weeks, with some cases involving injuries and loss of property. Victims are being targeted in their homes, on the streets, and even near busy areas. Some reports describe how robbers now operate in groups and often move with confidence, knowing they are unlikely to be caught.

There is growing fear that Bo is no longer safe after dark. Many residents have stopped staying out late, and shop owners now close their businesses earlier than usual. People living in different parts of the city say they hear of new attacks almost every night.

Despite regular police patrols, the public believes that the security situation is getting worse. Some residents say the robbers seem better prepared and more aggressive, leaving citizens feeling helpless. Others are calling on local authorities to take stronger steps to stop the ongoing violence before more lives are affected.

As of now, police have not confirmed any arrests or identified suspects in connection with the attack on Lamina. Investigations are said to be ongoing.

Meanwhile, the city continues to watch closely as tension remains high. Families are worried, and the fear of being attacked in their own homes has spread across neighbourhoods. Community members are urging the government and security agencies to act quickly and restore calm before the situation worsens. John Lamina remains in critical condition as police continue their investigation.
