The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah, has said that no immunity should be granted to individuals involved in drug-related activities, as the government intensifies its fight against the growing Kush crisis that continues to devastate communities across Sierra Leone.

Addressing the alarming spread of the synthetic substance, the Minister highlighted its harmful impact on young people and called for a coordinated national response.

“The fight against Kush requires collaborative efforts,” Minister Bah said, emphasizing the urgent need for joint action from all sectors of society.

He also commended the media for its role in raising public awareness and supporting the government’s ongoing campaign against drug abuse.

“I applaud the media for playing a significant role in raising awareness and supporting the national campaign against this menace,” he added.

Reiterating the importance of collective responsibility, the Minister urged individuals, civil society groups, and institutions to actively contribute to the national effort to combat drug abuse.

His remarks align with President Julius Maada Bio’s broader policy on drug control and national security, as Sierra Leone continues to confront the widespread effects of Kush a dangerous synthetic drug affecting many young people nationwide
