The Chinese Embassy in Sierra Leone has made a generous contribution of One Million Three Hundred Thousand New Leones to the office of First Lady Fatima Maada Bio in support of the Hands of Our Girls campaign, an initiative dedicated to promoting the health, education, and empowerment of young girls across the country.
The donation ceremony took place at the Chinese Embassy in Freetown, where the Acting Chinese Ambassador highlighted the importance of protecting and supporting girls as a critical component of national development.

Speaking at the event, the Acting Ambassador said, “This donation is intended to help protect girls and ensure they have the opportunity to thrive. This is not the first time we have supported such initiatives, and we are committed to continuing our contributions to make the lives of girls better in Sierra Leone.”

A representative from the office of the first Lady expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasizing how international partnerships play a vital role in strengthening the campaign’s reach and impact. noting that initiatives like Hands of Our Girls are essential in addressing challenges such as access to quality education, healthcare, and protection against exploitation and abuse.

The Hands of Our Girls campaign, launched under the leadership of First Lady Fatima Maada Bio, aims to empower young girls by providing educational resources, mentorship programs, and health awareness initiatives. The campaign has already reached thousands of girls nationwide and continues to expand with the support of both local and international partners.
