The Minister of Transport and Aviation, Ambassador Col. (Rtd) Alhaji Fanday Turay, Esq., has paid a working visit to the new office complex of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) at Africanus Road in Freetown, where he expressed satisfaction with the level of progress made on the project.
The Minister was received by the Executive Director of SLRSA, Mr. James Bagie Bio, the Deputy Executive Director, Mr. Josie Abraham Scott-Manga, and other senior management officials of the Authority. The visit formed part of the Ministry’s oversight function to assess infrastructure projects under its purview.

During the tour, the Project Manager, Mr.Abel Onomake, guided the Minister through key sections of the facility, including the licensing hall, conference and board rooms, canteen, gym, and administrative offices, including those designated for the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director.
Addressing the Minister, Executive Director James Bagie Bio explained that construction of the office complex began in 2014 and noted that SLRSA management is intensifying efforts to ensure the project is completed within the projected timeframe. He thanked the Minister for his support to the Authority and reiterated SLRSA’s commitment to improving road safety administration and service delivery nationwide.

At the conclusion of the inspection, Minister Turay commended the SLRSA leadership for what he described as effective management and dedication to the project. He observed that the development aligns with the government’s broader infrastructure and institutional strengthening agenda, and assured the Authority of the Ministry’s continued support.
Providing an update on the project timeline, Project Manager Abel Onomake stated that the new office complex is expected to be completed and ready for occupation by March 2026.

The new facility is intended to enhance the operational capacity of the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority and improve service delivery to the public once fully completed and operational.
