Sierra Leonean and U.S.-based professional footballer Kei Kamara has expressed his desire to contribute to the success of the Leone Stars, saying the national team can qualify for the FIFA World Cup under the right leadership.

Speaking in a live interview on Truth Media, Kamara said he is confident he could lead the team to World Cup qualification if given the chance to coach. He described his belief as unwavering, rooted in his experience at the highest levels of international football.

Even if not appointed head coach, Kamara said he would still be willing to serve in any role within the team’s management. He stressed that the Leone Stars need administrative and managerial reforms, including a full restructuring of how the team is supported and managed.

Kamara also highlighted internal challenges affecting the team. He pointed to jealousy and emotional burdens as factors that have hindered performance and suggested that management seek forgiveness from players and the public to rebuild trust.

On team unity, Kamara shared that he encourages players to prioritize national solidarity by singing the national pledge before matches. He said that putting the country and the national flag first helps foster unity and collective purpose.

Kamara’s comments have fueled ongoing discussions about the performance, management, and future of the Leone Stars as Sierra Leone seeks sustained success in continental and global football.
