The Ministry of Youth Affairs has announced that the Honourable Minister of Youth Affairs, Ibrahim Sannoh, has departed Sierra Leone for Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the Jobs for Youth in Africa Knowledge Exchange and Community of Practice (COP) Meeting.

The high-level meeting, scheduled for March 3-5, 2026, is being convened under the Jobs for Youth in Africa Initiative of the World Bank. It brings together policymakers, development partners, private sector leaders, and youth employment practitioners from across the continent to share innovative ideas, strengthen strategic partnerships, and advance scalable solutions aimed at tackling youth unemployment in Africa.

According to the Ministry, Hon. Sannoh’s participation follows an official invitation from the World Bank and reflects the Government of Sierra Leone’s continued commitment to youth empowerment, skills development, entrepreneurship, and job creation.

During the summit, the Minister is expected to showcase Sierra Leone’s progress and ongoing reforms within the youth sector. He will also explore collaborative opportunities and best practices that can help expand economic prospects for young people across the country.

The Ministry expressed confidence that the engagement will strengthen Sierra Leone’s presence in regional and global discussions on youth employment while fostering partnerships capable of delivering tangible benefits to the nation’s youth population.

Reaffirming its mandate, the Ministry of Youth Affairs assured Sierra Leoneans of its sustained dedication to promoting inclusive policies and innovative programmes that create meaningful pathways for youth development and economic participation.
