Several students of Fourah Bay College have reportedly been denied entry into examination halls due to outstanding school fee payments, sparking concern among students and stakeholders in the education sector.
The incident, which occurred during ongoing examinations, has affected mainly final-year students who say they were fully prepared to sit for their papers but were barred from entering the examination halls because of unpaid tuition fees.
In an interview with Sierraloaded one affected final-year student, Micheal Morie Kamara, from the Department of Information and Knowledge Management, said many students had worked throughout the academic year in preparation for the exams but were unable to complete fee payments on time due to financial difficulties.

“We have worked hard throughout the academic year and prepared for these exams. Unfortunately, due to financial difficulties, some of us were not allowed into the examination hall,” the student said.
He added that missing the examinations could have serious consequences on students’ academic progression and graduation timelines, especially for those in their final year.
The affected students are now appealing to the college administration to introduce flexible payment arrangements or temporary grace periods to allow them to sit their examinations and complete their studies without disruption.

As of the time of this report, the administration of Fourah Bay College had not issued an official statement on the matter. Students and other stakeholders are awaiting clarification from university authorities regarding the situation.

They should let him write his exams and then talk about the fees later. Because of money school authorities are depriving future leaders in Sierra Leone. God help Sierra Leone.
