East End Lions FC has officially secured trademark protection for its crest, logo, lion device, and the names “East End Lions F.C.” and “The Killers” under Sierra Leone’s Trademarks Act No. 8 of 2014.
The registrations grant the club exclusive legal rights to use and commercialise its protected identity on a range of merchandise, including clothing, footwear, sports equipment, and souvenirs.
In a statement, the club warned that the unauthorised production, importation, distribution, or sale of counterfeit East End Lions jerseys and other branded merchandise constitutes trademark infringement and may result in legal action, including civil and criminal proceedings.
East End Lions also announced that DiLegendary, located at 58 Bathurst Street in Freetown, is currently the club’s sole authorised retailer licensed to sell official East End Lions merchandise.
The club encouraged supporters and the general public to purchase only officially licensed products to help protect the club’s brand and ensure the authenticity of its merchandise.
Management reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the club’s identity, heritage, and intellectual property rights while welcoming legitimate commercial licensing partnerships through the Office of the Secretary General.
Founded in 1928, East End Lions FC remains one of Sierra Leone’s oldest and most successful football clubs, with the latest trademark registrations marking another step in safeguarding its legacy both on and off the field.
