Central University has on Saturday, March 9, 2024, holds its third graduation ceremony at its main campus in Mile 91, in the Northern District of Tonkolili.
The atmosphere was charged with ambition as graduands, adorned in their academic regalia, made their way to their seats, heralded by the stately Chancellor’s Procession.
In an inspiring speech, Vice Chancellor, Professor Bob Karankay Conteh, implored the graduates to apply the wisdom they had acquired, reassuring them of the institution’s confidence in their capacity to navigate the challenges of the global job market.
Prof Conteh extolled the distinctiveness of Central University’s diplomas, accentuating their advanced security features to deter forgery.
Chancellor Muckson Sesay extended his appreciation to the academic staff for their relentless efforts in maintaining the university’s pledge to excellence in education. He emphasized the pivotal role of education in history and urged Sierra Leoneans to prioritize investing in it.
Central University, he declared, is steadfast in its mission to nurture future leaders endowed with the competence and vision to steer progress.
The Minister of Education, Ramatulai Wurie, lauded Central University for its exemplary contribution to easing the governmental load in providing superior education in the nation.
Faculty Deans proceeded to present their candidates to Chancellor Muckson Sesay for conferral of degrees. The ceremony reached a high point with the acknowledgment of scholarly excellence. Mustapha Bayoh (Mass Communication), Ibrahim Kamara (Computer Science), and Mariatu Sankoh (Business Administration) were celebrated for their exceptional academic achievements, reflecting their commitment and intellectual prowess.
Dignitaries such as Chancellors, Vice Chancellors, Deans, and Lecturers from various universities, as well as the Resident Minister South, Mohamed E.K Allie, and Paramount Chiefs from the Yoni chiefdoms and 16 Paramount Chiefs from Kenema District, highlighting Central University’s role in sculpting future leaders and its significant contribution to the educational fabric of the nation.
Residents of Yoni Chiefdom were amazed by the progress of the University and assured the Chancellor of their commitment to move the institution forward.
