Heavy rains in Tonkolili District, the Northern Province of Sierra Leone, has caused severe flooding by Makila river.

The road by Makila river is a by pass route residents uses in a daily basis but have been covered and filled with water due to the excess rains.

A motorbike has been swept off in the flash flood and passers by are unable to cross through the water on their own.

Strong agile youths have been very helpful as they tows motorbikes and carries people on their backs to cross them over to the safe path.

These youths risk their lives to tow motorbikes by passing sticks in between the seat and tires of the bikes and carries them on their shoulders till they reach to the other part of the road.
