President Bio has on the 21st June, 2023 inaugurated the Sonoco Bread Avenue in Wellington, Freetown.
This came as a fulfilment of a promise for the construction of a bakery facility for the people in that environment.
According to sources, the investment is not just a bakery facility but it also serves as a training centre for bakery, pastry and cake production.
The management of the bakery expressed their thanks and appreciation to the president for the effort and proving that he is a man of his words by making the dreams of the people come through on this particular day.
They also extended their profound thanks to the vice president, Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh for the steadfastness in making the project a reality.
Great work
This shows how backward our population our country is. The red carpet is rolled out for the President to inaugurate a bakery. Are we really serious, is this a national celebration? We did not celebrate growing our own wheat to enable us to produce flour to supply the hundreds of bakeries around the country nor did we celebrate continuous electricity power supply to power the bakery nor constant water supply to mix the dough but national celebration for something private individuals do in our neighbouring countries do all the time. No wonder a blogger described Sierra Leoneans as villagers. What a backward society.
