The Acting Honorable Chief Justice of Sierra Leone, Justice N. C. Browne-marke, welcomed four members of the Inns of Court College of Advocacy to his chambers at the Law Court Building on Siaka Steven Street in Freetown.
Ms. Ijeoma Omambala KC, Mr. Simon Mallett, Mr. Grahame Aldous KC, and HH Simon Davis are currently in the country to conduct a three-day training session on advocacy for young lawyers in Sierra Leone. Scheduled from Wednesday, April 17th, to Friday, April 19th, 2024, the training aims to enhance legal advocacy skills among the nation’s legal practitioners.
“I’m happy to meet with you for the second time; but I am very much happy that you are now the Honorable Chief Justice,” remarked retired Judge Simon Davis during the meeting.
Expressing gratitude, the Acting Honorable Chief Justice emphasized the timeliness of the training, stating it will significantly contribute to the improvement of advocacy in Sierra Leone. “I am very happy that you are always making affirmative contributions towards legal education in Sierra Leone,” he added.
The training is organized by the Inns of Court College of Advocacy in collaboration with the UK/SL Pro Bono Network and the Sierra Leone Bar Association. Financial and technical support for the initiative are provided by A4ID, Role UK, and UK Aid
