The Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) wishes to inform the general public that in partnership with the Electricity Generation and Transmission Company, it will shut down the 161KV Transmission Line (TL) supplying power from the Bumbuna Hydroelectric Power Plant (HEPP) to Freetown 161 KV Substation at Kingtom for the interconnection of the 10MW Makoth Solar Power Plant on alternate days commencing on Friday 11th, Monday 14th and Wednesday 16th August, 2023 respectively starting from 6:00am to 2:00pm for a period of eight hours(8) each day, as stated above.

With the implementation of the interconnection of the Makoth Solar Farm to the 161 KV TL, it is expected that the readily available 10MW out of the 25MW from the Makoth Solar Power Plant Project, customers in the Western Area will experience improved electricity power supply, enhance the country’s energy mix and reduce CO₂ emissions in electricity production.

Moreover, the Authority would want customers in Freetown to know that during this interconnection period stated above (Friday, Monday and Wednesday), residents will experience intermittent power supply for a period of 8hrs starting from 6:00am to 2:00pm. On that note, the Authority is sorry for the inconveniences this situation may cause while assuring customers of a reliable and sustainable electricity power supply upon completion of the said activity. https://macularetinavitreouscenter.com/
