The Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (SLPHA) has issued a press release to update the public on the status of two vehicles that were initially detained at the Queen Elizabeth II Quay in Freetown but subsequently transferred to the custody of the Sierra Leone Police Interpol Unit.

According to the statement, the vehicles remain under police custody following a formal demand letter from the Sierra Leone Police requesting their immediate release.

The Authority complied with this request while ensuring the matter follows due process.

The statement also revealed that the circumstances surrounding the detention of these vehicles are currently being addressed through legal proceedings at the Fast Track Commercial Court. The Authority emphasized its commitment to cooperating fully with the legal process to ensure a fair and timely resolution.

“Management assures the public that the outcome of this matter will be handled in accordance with the rule of law,” the release stated, underscoring the organization’s dedication to transparency and accountability.

The SLPHA further appealed to all stakeholders, including the media and the general public, to avoid speculation and exercise patience as the court proceedings unfold. The Authority has pledged to provide updates as necessary to keep the public informed.
