Sierra Leone international forward Yayah Kallon has joined Slovenian top-flight club NK Olimpija Ljubljana on a free transfer, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2029.

The 25-year-old attacker, who also holds Italian citizenship, arrives from Italian Serie C side Casertana and will wear the number 79 shirt for the Slovenian club.

Kallon brings considerable experience from Italian football, having made 39 appearances in Serie A for Genoa and Hellas Verona, while also featuring 24 times in Serie B. He has previously played for Bari and Salernitana before joining Casertana, where he played an important role in the club’s playoff campaign.

His move to Olimpija comes as the club looks to strengthen its attacking options as it battles at the bottom of the Slovenian PrvaLiga standings.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Kallon said he was excited about taking on the new challenge and playing in a league that could provide a pathway to European football.

“I am very happy for this new challenge in a country that is completely new to me and in a league that offers the opportunity to break through in Europe,” Kallon said.

He acknowledged the club’s current position and the need for attacking reinforcements, adding that he was ready to contribute to the team’s efforts.

Known for his pace, technical ability and strength in one-on-one situations, Kallon can operate on either wing or as a central striker, giving Olimpija greater versatility in attack.

The Sierra Leone international is expected to join his new teammates in training as he begins preparations for his first competitive appearances with the club, with Olimpija hoping his arrival can help spark a turnaround in their league campaign.
