The National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA) has mobilized 3,000 beneficiaries across Falaba, Tonkolili, and Pujehun districts to spearhead large-scale agricultural cultivation under the Sustainable Cash for Work (SCfW) component of the Productive Social Safety Nets and Youth Employment (PSSNYE) project.

The initiative directly supports the government’s Feed Salone agenda, reinforcing agricultural transformation, youth empowerment, and economic resilience.

Working with the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, local councils, and community stakeholders, NaCSA formed 60 groups of 50 beneficiaries to cultivate 1,130 acres of land 18 groups in Falaba, 28 in Tonkolili, and 14 in Pujehun. Crops include rice, cassava, and groundnut, all vital to household nutrition and national food security.

Beneficiaries received the Leone equivalent of US$75 for initial land preparation, and NaCSA has finalized arrangements for an additional US$75 equivalent for planting and crop maintenance.

Payments began on Wednesday, 24th September 2025, and are being delivered securely via the Afrimoney platform, giving beneficiaries the freedom to cash out at any agent of their choice.

To reduce congestion at agent locations, NaCSA will establish Case Management Centres in strategic areas. These will provide additional support with cash-out services and address payment-related concerns. Locations will be communicated through Community Oversight Committees (COCs).

The Commission urged beneficiaries to verify their payments at cash-out points, plan for future needs by saving part of their earnings, and immediately report any attempt at extortion or corrupt practices to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) through its toll-free number 8515, or via ACC monitors and NaCSA district staff.
