The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL) has reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and prudent management of electoral resources following a high-level engagement with the Audit Service Sierra Leone as preparations continue for the 2028 Multi-Tier Elections.

The Chief Electoral Commissioner and Chairman of ECSL, Mr. Edmond Sylvester Alpha, accompanied by fellow Commissioners, paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of the Audit Service Sierra Leone in Freetown on Thursday, May 21, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen institutional collaboration between the two state institutions.

According to ECSL, the meeting formed part of ongoing engagements aimed at reinforcing public confidence in the country’s electoral process through effective financial management and sound internal control systems.

Speaking during the engagement, Mr. Alpha highlighted the importance of the continued partnership between ECSL and the Audit Service Sierra Leone, noting that the institution’s technical expertise and professional guidance have played a significant role in strengthening the Commission’s financial management structures.

He expressed appreciation for the confidence the Audit Service Sierra Leone continues to place in the strategic direction of ECSL and reaffirmed the Commission’s determination to uphold high standards of fiscal discipline, accountability, and electoral integrity as the country moves toward the 2028 elections.
